Folk guitar
The MARTIN GUITAR Billy Strings D-28 is the signature model of Billy Strings (born William Lee Apostol in 1992). He's an American guitarist, singer, songwriter and composer whose favorite genre is bluegrass music. He has released four studio albums, with "Home" winning an award for Best Bluegrass Album of 2021. He repeated the feat in 2025 with "Live Vol. 1." Inspired by the artist's personal 1940 D-28, the D-28 Billy Strings is an updated version of this classic "pre-war" design, enhanced by special features requested by the musician. The 25" scale reduces string tension, facilitating phrasing and bends. The neck is significantly wider than that of the original vintage Martin, with a "modified low oval" profile offering optimum comfort. The traditional spruce / Indian rosewood combination of the Billy Strings D-28 generates full, powerful tones, with rich basses and crystal-clear trebles. In an ideal vintage/modern compromise, the Billy Strings D-28 is a massive weapon of seduction.
