The MARTIN & CO Custom Shop CS-D-C24055346 #2997714 is an exceptional Dreadnought-style steel-string acoustic guitar. The Star's Music Acoustic team visited the Custom Shop Martin workshops in the USA to select the wood species before assembly.

All woods are of course solid. It features a Carpathian Sitka Spruce top, a Guatemalan Rosewood back and sides combo, a Mahogany neck and an Ebony fingerboard.
A magnificent example, perfectly balanced across the entire frequency spectrum, with outstanding responsiveness and a unique temperament. Picea Abies / Picea Excelsa (Carpathian Spruce) is a European spruce native to the forests of Romania. It is prized by leading luthiers for its warm yet defined temperament, hybridizing the high rigidity of Adirondack Spruce (with greater tonal amplitude) and the low density/lightness of European Spruce (Germany, Switzerland, Italy). This gives it an optimal hardness/weight ratio. Most Carpathian Spruces are light, milky and uniform in color, with a consistent grain. Guatemalan Rosewood has tonal qualities similar to Brazilian Rosewood, whose exploitation has unfortunately been banned by the CITES organization. It is considered one of the most prestigious species, offering warm, rich and powerful tones.
