Folk guitar

Equipped with a Martin E1 preamp, the MARTIN D-15E steel-string acoustic guitar is the electro-acoustic version of the popular Martin D-15. A traditional Dreadnought with a solid mahogany top and Sapele back and sides, it's a must-have in the Martin catalog, with warm, clear, full and dynamic tones, with a special emphasis on the mid-range frequencies. Native to Central America, Katalox is a dense wood similar in every way to Ebony.

Achetée au magasin de Lyon en mars 2025, je suis très satisfait de cette dreadnought acajou/ sapelli made in Mexico. La sonorité est chaleureuse et n'a pas grand chose à envier à sa grande soeur D15M made in USA (peut-être un peu moins de caractère mais ce n'est pas grave) de plus ici la largeur au sillet de tête est à 44,5 mm (contre 42,9 sur la version américaine), ce qui pour moi en tout cas, est plus confortable pour jouer certains accords. Et elle est électro-acoustique, ce qui a été décisif pour moi, faisant de la chanson française sur scène.
Un petit bémol tout de même concernant le préamp "Martin E1" qui équipe désormais les Martin de la série Road (entre autres) : le niveau de sortie est plus bas, le son moins naturel que sur le Fishman MXT monté jusqu'alors sur les Martin de cette série . Mais ça n'engage que moi. Bref une bien belle guitare dont je suis heureux qu'elle fasse partie de mon set.
