The MARTIN Johnny Marr M-7 Signature is a seven-string electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar in 0000 gauge, an intermediate size combining the width of a Jumbo with the depth of a 000.
Its magnificent all-solid-wood construction combines a Sitka spruce top, a three-piece Indian rosewood back/side combo, a mahogany neck and an Ebony fingerboard, with a LR Baggs Anthem system - a benchmark if you want to reproduce all the subtleties and deep temperament of the M-6.
The Anthem pre-amp combines the popular Element transducer with a TRU-MIC condenser microphone precisely positioned in the body. This combination reproduces the behavior of a dynamic studio microphone, with superb clarity, a subtly balanced frequency response and excellent resistance to feedback on stage. Johnny Marr is an English musician and producer (Mancunian to be exact) who became a legend for his role as songwriter with The Smiths in the 1980s. Guitarist, singer, keyboardist and harmonica player, he formed a legendary duo with Morrissey, and his innovative, inspired playing has led him to collaborate with such luminaries as Bryan Ferry, The Pretenders, Kirsty MacColl, Talking Heads, Black Grape, Billy Bragg, Pet Shop Boys, Beck, Oasis and Jane Birkin.
