Introduced in the late '60s, Ovation acoustic guitars stand out from the crowd, especially with their Lyrachord bodies. Lyrachord is a composite material derived from the aeronautics industry; omnidirectional silicone fiber combined with resins, the formulation of which required several years of research before arriving at an alternative to traditional woods, offering not only a light, robust structure, but also remarkable acoustic power and sustain.

The soundboard is made of laminated "Flamed" Maple with sumptuous aesthetic qualities, equipped with sculpted X-type bracing, nevertheless customized by Ovation to accentuate dynamics and power, while retaining Maple's natural sonority.
The satin-finish neck in Nato (a variety of mahogany) is very pleasing, and features up to 23 frets on the E and B strings. As for pre-amplification, an Ovation OP-4BT offers volume, gain and 3-band EQ controls, as well as a tuner and battery indicator LED.
