The RANE PERFORMER is a 4-channel motorized DJ controller. It’s designed for the stage, not for learning: clubs, tours, battles, and demanding event performances.

It incorporates the hallmarks of RANE’s high-end lineup: PRECISION FEEL faders and a MAG FOUR crossfader. Its motorized decks are designed to replicate the feel of vinyl. It also features direct hardware access to stems and a built-in effects engine.

Motorized decks: the vinyl feel remains intact

Both 7-inch decks (cast aluminum, acrylic platter) are motorized. They’re specifically tuned for scratching, backspins, and pitch control. The motor torque and braking are calibrated to closely mimic the feel of a real vinyl turntable. This isn’t just a generic simulator.

In practice, your scratching and cutting techniques translate seamlessly without any adjustment period. The included mixer handles four channels. You can mix multiple sources or expand your setup (back-to-back, external sources) without needing a separate mixer.

PRECISION FEEL faders and MAG FOUR crossfader: the scratching combo

The four channel faders use RANE’s PRECISION FEEL technology. It’s based on the same dual-rail mechanical system as the MAG FOUR. The travel is light yet remains sturdy even under heavy use.

Each fader features a contour adjustment, which controls the shape of the sound’s opening curve. It also offers a reverse function. You can switch from a tight cut to a long blend depending on the track.

In the center, the MAG FOUR crossfader shares the same DNA. It’s the lightest and smoothest in the RANE lineup. A tension knob on the front panel adjusts the resistance without opening the mixer. Dedicated curve and reverse settings keep your favorite cut distance at your fingertips, whether in a battle set or a hybrid set.

Live Stems: Isolate vocals or instrumentals without leaving the software

The PERFORMER provides direct hardware access to stems. This technology separates a track in real time into vocal, instrumental, melody, and drum tracks. From the control surface, you have four ways to manipulate them.

You can isolate or rebalance vocals and instrumentals, or switch to the a cappella or instrumental track. Dedicated pad modes also let you cut, mute, or reshape a track on the fly. The practical benefit: you can build transitions, mashups, or surprise acapellas without having to go back into the software. This is exactly what an open-format DJ looks for in a live set.

Internal FX Engine: 29 Effects Without Relying on a Laptop

The PERFORMER features a built-in effects engine: 29 main FX and 4 channel FX. They’re controlled directly via buttons for each side of the mixer. The basic effects (echo, reverb, roll, flanger) remain clear even on a professional sound system. They don’t get lost in the mix.

You can use them on their own or layer them over Serato DJ Pro’s effects for added depth. No loss of output level—a crucial factor in clubs, where every dB is negotiated with the front-of-house engineer.

OLED screens on decks and pads: keep your eyes on the crowd

Each motorized deck features a 3.5-inch screen in the center. It displays the live waveform, deck status, album art, and library navigation—right at your fingertips.

In practice, this cuts down on the back-and-forth to your laptop screen. It’s a real plus for maintaining eye contact with the crowd. Day Mode adjusts readability for very bright environments.

Each of the 16 backlit pads (8 per deck) features a dedicated OLED display. It indicates the active mode: hot cue, loop, sample, or stems. This is handy when you’re switching between multiple modes seamlessly during your set.
