The solid-body electric bass STERLING BY MUSIC MAN SUB StingRay RAY4 (Jatoba, Vintage Cream) is the ideal alternative if you're looking for the authentic Stingray sound but don't have the budget for a US model. Following in the footsteps of the original 1976 Music Man model, the RAY is an instrument particularly suited to Rock/Funk sounds.
Jabon or Basswood body, bolt-on neck in Maple, Jatoba or Maple fingerboard (depending on color), ceramic humbucking pickup(s), active dual-band electronics. Jabon is a fast-growing tree native to Indonesia. Light and aesthetically pleasing, its temperament is identical to that of Basswood, producing balanced tones with present midrange and remarkable dynamics and definition. The fingerboard is made of Jatoba (or Brazilian Cherry), a wood with tonal characteristics close to those of Pau Ferro. warm, punchy tones.
