Folk guitar
The TAYLOR American Dream AD17e-SB is an acoustic/electric guitar featuring a comfortable Grand Pacific body shape (close to a Round Shoulder Dreadnought).
A solid Sitka Spruce top braced with Taylor's V-Class bracing optimizes the response by boosting volume and sustain, and resolving the intonation issues that have long plagued acoustic guitars.
A Sitka spruce top blends the right amount of stiffness and elasticity to create a broad, dynamic range with crisp articulation.
Walnut produces a clear, woody voice with a splash of top-end sparkle and a bit more tonal support in the lower register. The combination of the Sitka and walnut creates a tone that will ring out with a pleasing weight behind it.
The high density and hardness of Eucalyptus tonewood enhances the clarity of each note. It also feels wonderful underneath the finger.
If Taylor choosed this alternative for its regular Ebony fingerboards, we can take their word for it.
Slightly smaller that the Grand Auditorium body shape, this Grand Concert yields controlled overtones and its compactness blends with the slightly condensed fret spacing of the 24-7/8" scale length. With the bridge's position near the center of the lower bout, Taylor's Grand Concert guitars are easy to play and have a surprising amount of tonal power and midrange warmth.
It ships with built-in ES2 electronics in a Taylor AeroCase.
