The Tone Beast Black is a mic preamp that likes to be pushed and will gently colour your signal. The two discrete op-amps and the two selectable output transformers don't look that different, but as soon as they start to saturate, the character of each will become apparent. The Tone Beast Black is modular and allows the user to put in their own op-amps.
