Overdrive, distortion & fuzz effect pedal
Box of War is a faithful recreation of the legendary '90s "Civil War" fuzz—not a simple copy, but a meticulous reproduction of the original circuit down to the smallest detail.
It's often said: the sound is in the details.
And here, no compromises. Every component has been studied, every nuance respected. This cult pedal, adored for its tone but built at the time with low-end components, is reborn here in an ultra-reliable, robust version, ready to withstand any tour.
Construction-wise, it's heavy—literally.
Forget the thin aluminum enclosures you find everywhere: the Box of War is as solid as a tank, with a small footprint but a massive presence. A real brute, ready for the stage... and which can even serve as personal defense if things get out of hand after the concert.
Sound-wise, it's close to the famous Tall Font BM, but with a darker, dirtier texture. Less output and a little less fuzz than the other Muffs, but a deep, woody sustain and a presence that cuts through the mix.
Used by legends like David Gilmour and Thurston Moore, this fuzz has become a well-kept secret – except that the originals broke down easily.
The Box of War fixes that.
Same texture, same aesthetic, but rock-solid reliability.
If you want a vintage-sounding fuzz with guts, capable of handling the road and crushing everything in its path, this is the one for you.
