Usb audio interface

Zoom UAC-232 is for demanding musicians, podcasters and content creators who want clean, no-fuss sound. You plug in, you record, and you keep a huge margin of safety thanks to 32-bit floating point. It's a compact interface, designed for both home studio and mobile setup. Ideal if you're aiming for an intermediate budget and are looking for a real step-up in quality, without switching to a heavier solution.

Features

32-bit floating point for stress-free recording

With its dual 32-bit floating-point A/D converter, the Zoom UAC-232 captures your shots with great tolerance. In concrete terms, this means you avoid saturation caused by level peaks, and you can more easily recover a take that's too strong or too weak. Practical for energetic vocals, dynamic guitar, or a podcast recorded "on the fly".

Up to 192 kHz: more detail, more precision

The sampling rate goes up to 192 kHz. The result is a finer reproduction, useful when recording harmonically rich sources such as acoustic guitar, piano or percussion. Even at more conventional frequencies, the base remains clean and stable.

2 XLR/Jack combo inputs: vocals, instruments, right away

You have 2 mic/line inputs on XLR/Jack 6.3 mm combo jacks. You can record two sources at the same time: a vocal + guitar duo, a two-mic interview, or a stereo synth. And when you're working on your own, you can keep an input available to vary the plugs.

Switchable instrument input 1: plug in your guitar without a box

Input 1 switches to instrument mode for direct guitar or bass connection. You save time and simplify your audio chain. Ideal for recording a demo quickly, or laying down ideas without taking out all your gear.

48 V phantom power: your condenser mics are ready to go

The switchable +48 V allows you to use condenser microphones. You can record a more detailed vocal, a more precise acoustic guitar, or a more natural ambient pickup. Activate only when you need to, so you don't have to worry about your mics.

Zoom F-series preamps: clear, immediately usable sound

Zoom F Series mic preamps deliver a transparent, balanced sound. As a result, your recordings need less correction to sound good. On a spoken voice, you get a clean timbre. On an instrument, you retain attack and dynamics.

Latency-free monitoring: you play and hear in real time

Switchable latency-free monitoring avoids the effect of headphone lag. You sing, you play, you talk, and you stay comfortable. It's a real plus for recording clean takes, especially when superimposing several tracks.

Loopback + routing: stream and podcast thinking

With Mix Control (Windows/macOS/iOS), you can manage routing and the Loopback function. You can mix the audio from your microphone with that from the computer to stream, record a video, or produce a podcast with sound effects. The result is simple broadcasting, with no complicated editing.

Outputs and MIDI: a compact hub for your setup

Stereo headphone output in 6.3 mm jack with separate volume, balanced stereo line outputs in 2x 6.3 mm jack: you can easily adapt headphones, speakers and returns. MIDI input/output on 5-pin DIN connects a keyboard, module or drum machine, without the need for a dedicated interface.

Dual USB-C: studio and mobility

One USB-C port handles audio, MIDI and power. A second USB-C port is dedicated to power for mobile recording. You secure your session when you're on the move, while keeping a clean connection with your main device.

FAQ

Is it suitable if I'm just starting to record at home?

Yes, especially if you want a clean result quickly. The 32-bit design limits level errors, and latency-free monitoring helps you record comfortably. Just plug in a microphone or guitar and you're already producing usable takes.

Can I record vocals + guitar at the same time?

Yes. The 2 mic/line inputs enable you to record two sources simultaneously, for example a vocal mic and a guitar. This saves recording time and ensures a more natural performance.

Does it work for streaming and podcasting?

Yes, the Loopback function and Mix Control software allow you to mix microphone and computer audio. This is handy for live broadcasts, recording an online interview or creating a podcast with music and jingles.

Can I connect monitoring speakers?

Yes, the balanced 6.3 mm stereo line outputs connect easily to studio speakers. You keep your listening stable and clean, and adjust the headphones separately.

Is it iPhone/iPad compatible?

Yes, the Zoom UAC-232 is iOS compatible via USB-C. The second USB-C port can power the interface in a mobile situation, securing recording when you're away from a computer.
