Overdrive, distortion & fuzz effect pedal
Built around 2N404 or 2N527 Germanium transistors, the compact BENSON AMPS Stonk Box Fuzz pedal offers the characteristic saturation of an iconic 1960s fuzz, the MK1 fuzz (itself an evolution of the very first fuzz circuit). Germanium transistor-equipped fuzzes are notorious for the negative influence that the temperature of the on-board transistors can have on the sound of the effect: the hotter it gets, the more distortion there is.
To remedy this problem, Benson Amps is the first manufacturer to integrate a fully analog thermal regulation circuit: an indicator diode changes color to show when the circuit is overheating, and corrects its bias to the correct voltage.
The pedal will operate optimally within two to three minutes of power-up.
