The CORT Core-GA Blackwood is an electro-acoustic Grand Auditorium cutaway with all-solid-wood construction, Blackwood top, back and sides, and Ovangkol fingerboard. The integrated Fishman Sonitone system makes amplification simple and efficient (volume and tone controls in the soundhole).

The resurgence in popularity of small-format folks like OM, Grand Auditorium or Parlor has led to a plethora of models on offer, and the Cort Core, in the entry/mid-range segment, is undoubtedly one of the most attractive on the market. Tasmanian Blackwood is an Acacia with a hybrid sonic kinship between Hawaiian Koa and Mahogany. Its midrange is powerful, clear and warm. It also has a brilliance reminiscent of Indian Rosewood, and is harvested from protected forests in an ecologically responsible manner, ensuring a sustainable supply. Ovangkol is an African relative of Rosewood, and shares its essential properties, with a significantly more generous midrange and more prominent treble, though less prominent than that of Maple.
