Folk guitar
The CORT Gold-MC6 Ovangkol is a Modern Concert electro-acoustic folk guitar with a cutaway and massive lutherie.
A very attractive mid-range model. Versatile, pleasant to play and functional (cutaway, Fishman Flex Blend preamp), it will suit intermediate guitarists and even professionals looking for an instrument that performs as well on stage as in the studio.
The "all-massive" argument will be decisive for the most demanding. It's a sure guarantee that the instrument's acoustic quality will continue to improve over the years of use.
The neck width of 44.5 mm at the nut will be an interesting feature for finger-picking enthusiasts. The Comfort C profile is particularly easy to tame.
The Cort Gold-MC6 Ovangkol features a torrefied* Sitka Spruce top, an Ovangkol back and sides combo, a Mahogany neck and an Ebony fingerboard. This combination of woods, combined with the compact size and standard 25.5" pitch, produces clean, bright, open tones, with pronounced low mids and excellent responsiveness. So you can hear the nuances and subtleties of your playing.
The natural volume of the Gold-MC6 Ovangkol is not as imposing as that of a Dreadnought, but nevertheless perfectly suited to purely acoustic playing.
* In addition to giving the wood an elegant patina, the torrefaction process improves the instrument's stability, sustain, clarity and resonance, while protecting it from thermal variations, humidity and mildew.sustain, clarity and resonance.
The Fishman® Flex Blend system will enable you to capture high quality recordings, with total respect for the guitar's sonic identity. It combines a piezo sensor and a condenser pickup that you can mix at will, offering great sonic flexibility on stage and in the studio.
The resurgence in popularity of small-format folks like OM, Grand Auditorium or Parlor has led to a plethora of models on offer, and the Cort Core-OC, in the entry/mid-range segment, is undoubtedly one of the most attractive on the market.
