Str shape electric guitar
Unique copy bearing the serial number R117544. Net weight (without case): 3.47 kg.
The FENDER Custom Shop Stratocaster 1963 Masterbuilt MBKM #R117544 (9217000478) was imagined and built from the ground up by master luthier Kyle McMillin, and features a "sort for lightweight" 2-piece Alder body, quarter-sawn Maple neck, AAA round-lam African Blackwood fingerboard (60's Oval C" profile, radius 9.5"), Custom Shop Poblano hand-wound pickups and Ultimate Relic Olympic White Over 3-Color Sunburst. Comes with hardshell case, strap and Fender Custom Shop certificate of authenticity. African Blackwood is denser and harder than Ebony or Brazilian Rosewood. Its sonic temperament fits perfectly between the two. It's perhaps the perfect essence of power, clarity and harmonic complexity. Individually wound, each pickup in the Ancho Poblano set has been optimized for its position, offering a wide range of tones from vintage velvety to searingly sharp. The neck and center pickups are equipped with AlNiCo 3 magnets, and the bridge with AlNiCo 5 magnets. Kyle McMillin has fifteen years' experience at Fender. After a five-year apprenticeship under Master Builder Yuriy Shishkov, with whom he built nearly 1,000 instruments, he too is now a Fender Custom Shop Master Builder.
