Folk guitar
The Gibson Hummingbird, introduced in 1960, is a legend in the world of steel-string acoustic guitars, prized by iconic artists such as Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley. The GIBSON Modern Collection Hummingbird Standard Rosewood (MCSSHBRWHFRB) reimagines this classic model with contemporary features.
Overview
The Hummingbird Standard Rosewood retains the essence of the original Dreadnought Square Shoulder Hummingbird while incorporating modernized elements, including a rosewood body and the Baggs HiFi DNA preamp system, for an enhanced listening experience.
All-solid-wood construction for exceptional tones
Featuring an all-solid-wood construction, this guitar combines traditional woods to deliver a rich and varied tonal palette:
- Sitka spruce top
- Rosewood body
- Mahogany neck
- Indian rosewood fingerboard (20 frets)
This combination delivers a full, warm tone with defined bass, balanced mids, and vibrant highs. Compared to models with a mahogany body, the Hummingbird offers more pronounced bass and greater harmonic depth.
Innovative recording technology for faithful sound reproduction
Equipped with the Baggs HiFi DNA system, this guitar uses two sensors that replace the traditional piezo pickup, performing the recording of the vibrations of the strings and the soundboard for a more natural sound:
- Each pickup has its own active preamp
- Volume and tone controls integrated into the soundhole
This technology captures the guitar’s original acoustic character with remarkable fidelity.
A versatile guitar suitable for all musicians
The Gibson Hummingbird Standard Rosewood is a must-have electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar, ideal for all playing styles, whether fingerpicking or strumming. Its versatility makes it a perfect choice for a wide range of musicians.
