Gibson J-45 60s Original (Baggs HiFi DNA Preamp) - vintage cherry sunburst

The Gibson J-45, nicknamed "The Workhorse," is one of the most sought-after acoustic guitars in the world. Introduced in 1942, it has shaped the sound of American folk music and has been immortalized on countless major albums thanks to its warm, expressive, and balanced tone.

Overview

The all-solid-wood construction of the Gibson Original Collection J-45 60s Original (OCRS4560HFVCS) combines classic woods to deliver exceptional tonal performance. With its Sitka spruce top, mahogany body and neck, and a rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets, this guitar offers an excellent balance of projection, warmth, and clarity while highlighting rich, prominent midrange tones.

An innovative sound system for authentic performances

Equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system, this J-45 60s Original uses two pickups strategically placed under the bridge plate. Unlike standard piezo systems, these pickups separately record the vibrations of the strings and the soundboard, resulting in a more natural and dynamic sound.

Versatile and suited to all playing styles

The Gibson J-45 60s Original is an essential electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar that appeals to a wide range of musicians. Thanks to its hybrid design and tonal characteristics, it’s perfectly suited for both fingerpickers and strummers, regardless of the musical genre they play.
