Overview

The Gibson J-45—nicknamed “The Workhorse”—is a drop-shoulder dreadnought that has shaped the sound of American folk music and been immortalized on countless iconic albums. Its design and tone make it a timeless instrument, appreciated by artists from all walks of life.

High-end craftsmanship for exceptional sound

The GIBSON Modern Collection J-45 Standard Rosewood (MCRS45RWHFRB) stands out for its all-solid-wood construction, combining traditional wood species:

• Sitka spruce top
• Rosewood body and sides
• Mahogany neck
• Indian rosewood fingerboard (20 frets)

This combination of materials delivers a full, warm, and responsive tone, with rich, well-defined bass, balanced mids, and crisp highs. Compared to a model with a mahogany body, this guitar offers more pronounced bass and greater harmonic depth.

An innovative electro-acoustic system for unmatched live performance

Equipped with the Baggs HiFi DNA system, the Gibson J-45 Standard Rosewood guarantees natural and dynamic recording. Two pickups, positioned beneath the bridge, capture the vibrations of both the strings and the soundboard. This allows for a faithful reproduction of the instrument’s acoustic character.

Each pickup has its own active preamp, while the volume and tone controls are thoughtfully integrated into the inner edge of the soundhole, making it easy to adjust settings while playing.

A Versatile Electro-Acoustic Guitar for All Styles

The Gibson J-45 Standard Rosewood is a must-have electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar that adapts to a wide variety of musical styles, whether fingerpicking, strumming, or any other playing technique. It’s the ideal instrument for musicians seeking exceptional sound quality and versatility.
