Overview

The Gibson J-45, nicknamed “The Workhorse,” debuted in 1942 and quickly established itself as one of the world’s most beloved acoustic guitars. With its Dreadnought Slope Shoulder design, this steel-string acoustic guitar played a key role in shaping the American folk sound, featuring on numerous iconic albums. Its warm and expressive tones make it a timeless instrument.

All-solid-wood construction for a rich, balanced tone

The GIBSON Modern Collection J-45 Standard 12-String (MCRS4512HFVS) features an all-solid-wood construction, combining traditional woods for exceptional acoustic performance:

• Sitka spruce top
• Mahogany body and neck
• Rosewood fingerboard (20 frets)

This classic combination ensures an excellent balance between projection, warmth, and clarity, with prominent midrange tones that will enhance every chord you play.

A state-of-the-art recording system for authentic acoustic sound

Equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system, the J-45 Standard 12-String stands out for its advanced recording technology. This system uses two sensors installed beneath the bridge, capturing both the vibrations of the strings and those of the soundboard. This approach results in recordings that are exceptionally natural and dynamic:

• Recordings that faithfully reproduce the original acoustic character
• Each pickup has its own active preamp
• Volume and tone controls integrated into the inner edge of the soundhole

Versatility that suits all styles

The Gibson J-45 Standard 12-String is a deeply versatile electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar, ideal for a wide variety of musicians, whether they prefer fingerpicking or strumming. Its design and acoustic characteristics make it an exceptional choice for all musical styles.
