Designed in collaboration by Kardian and Susumu Tamura - the creator of the original 1978 Ibanez TS808 - the KARDIAN Serotonin Origin S.T. ADD CBF C10H12N2O Overdrive / Distortion is an evolution of this legendary overdrive pedal, with a wider gain range, superior dynamics and more flexible two-band EQ. It delivers thick, generous, complex, organic saturation, with a very natural compression. Handcrafted with ostensible meticulousness, the Serotonin Origin S.T. ADD CBF is an authentic high-performance boutique pedal: custom OP-Amp supplied by Susumu Tamura, Orange Drop and Jantzen Audio capacitors, Vishay, Kemet, Amtrans AMRG resistors (1% tolerance, non-magnetic, brass tips, gold-plated oxygen-free copper outputs), etc.
Both the main controls (Volume, Drive, Treble, Bass) and the additional controls (Blend, Clean-LPF, Clean-Vol) are equally responsive and efficient, giving the processor great flexibility. Like the TS808, the Serotonin Origin S.T. ADD CBF lets you fine-tune the bottom end of the spectrum (while optimizing the dynamics of signals not processed by a parallel mixer). ADD CBF combines very well with other saturation pedals or the drive channel of an amplifier, with a full midrange and remarkable maintenance of dynamics, definition and openness. In our opinion, one of the best reinterpretations of the original TubeScreamer. You be the judge.
