The MARTIN & CO Custom Shop CS-000-C22054363 #2703350 is a 000 14 fret style steel-string acoustic guitar for which the Star's Music team selected the wood species on site, in the Custom Shop Martin workshops. It features an Adirondack Spruce top, Adirondack Spruce bracing, an Oriental Rosewood back and side combo, and an Ebony fingerboard.
The soundboard and bracing are made of Adirondack spruce. Adirondack is one of the most prized varieties of spruce. Its clarity and projection are unquestionably superior to those of traditional Sitka Spruce, with muffled mids. Indian Rosewood is definitely one of the most popular traditional species. It has the fundamental imprint of Mahogany, with a strong midrange (albeit more subdued), but with a much wider frequency range at the bottom and top of the spectrum.
