The Gibson Custom Shop Made To Measure (M2M) program has been around since 2013. It allows you to place an order for the Gibson of your dreams (be it a Les Paul, an SG, an ES-335, an Explorer…), which you will have precisely determined the characteristics. It is this program that we can call on to build our own M2M models. Check out this collection on the Star’s Music website. If you want to build your dream guitar, just contact us so that we can select a reference model together (to be chosen from a list of instruments inspired in particular by the iconic guitars of Gibson's golden age), then the different options offered by the Custom Shop (body wood/neck/fingerboard, table grade, pickups, neck profile, fittings, colors, finish, etc.). These specifications are then sent to the Custom Shop for validation, quotation and evaluation of the delivery time. All you have to do is accept the quote and wait! Regarded as the cornerstone of performance, Martin’s highly prized 1937 models set the benchmark for generations of instruments that followed.
This guitar sports time-tested features like Authentic bracing, hide glue and cloth strip construction, and an adjustable truss rod which gives enthusiasts the day-in, day-out reliability of an instrument that travels well AND responds to seasonal adjustments as it matures. With the Custom Shop D-28 1937 the stars have aligned again.

Visually, this Model takes advantage of Martin's proprietary Vintage Low Gloss process with a selection of craft-quality finishes. It is available in a natural or vintage Ambertone burst finish AND your preference of low-gloss or Stage 1 lightly aged finish. Lacking the heavy wear and tear of an instrument that’s seen considerable use, the Stage 1 finish with light cracking and crazing is inspired by those rare vintage instruments that were simply kept in the case and tucked away for decades. Stage 1 finish bears the marks of time but not the battle scars common on many vintage re-creations.
