The PEAVEY Legacy Series Decade Preamp pedal reproduces the vintage sounds of the eponymous Decade amp from 1980. At the time, this amp was a great success, appreciated by many artists, including Queens of the Stone Age. With its exacerbated midrange, clean attack and nervous saturation, it will be the tool of choice for guitarists in the rock, garage, indie, stoner and punk genres. The Peavey Decade has been designed as a true amplifier channel, allowing you to be the heart of your sound, or to complement the colors of your amp.
The Pre Gain and Post Gain controls let you adjust gain and texture (attack, compression) respectively, as well as output level to balance clean and distorted volumes. The highly effective three-band EQ lets you precisely sculpt tones to suit your guitar and rig.
The Saturation selector offers a second option for evolving denser and fuller gain without changing settings. Powered from 9V, the circuit voltage is brought up to 24V, giving the Decade the amplitude and dynamics of a genuine amp. This aspect will be of great interest to guitarists who like to nuance tones by playing on their attack and the instrument's volume potentiometer.
