Usb audio interface
The Fireface UCX II is a highly integrated professional audio solution in an ultra-compact format for studio and live recording. It continues RME's long tradition of designing compact advanced interfaces, integrating into a half-rack sized unit what would typically be spread over two or three 19-inch units.
This unique audio system is capable of transferring analog and digital audio data directly to Windows and Mac computers.
The latest Plug and Play technology ensures simple installation, even for the inexperienced user. Numerous unique features such as a well thought-out configuration dialog and an integrated routing solution allow for fast, comfortable and efficient operation of the Fireface UCX II.
The Fireface UCX II features two XLR combo mic/line preamps on the front panel, as well as two digitally controlled line/instrument inputs, followed by a headphone jack, various control knobs, a display, and the master volume knob. At the rear is a set of ten analog balanced line inputs and outputs, MIDI I/O, ADAT I/O, AES/EBU and SPDIF I/O, USB 2.0, and a switchable Word Clock I/O.
With SteadyClock FS, the Fireface UCX II features the latest clock and jitter technology from RME. Based on a femtosecond clock, SteadyClock FS reduces the intrinsic jitter when converting to and from analog on all digital formats to the lowest level in history.
Completely autonomous
Control all device states directly from the front panel for convenient, direct access to all features. Four buttons and an encoder, a high-resolution color display and a well thought-out menu structure allow the user to quickly change and configure the device's settings. In addition, the internal memory allows permanent storage of six different unit states. As a result, the Fireface UCX II is able to operate completely autonomously, without any connected computer. In standalone operation, it can transform into different types of devices with the click of a button. In addition, TotalMix FX can also be controlled via MIDI.
40 channels ready for mobile recording
DURec is a built-in digital recorder for all inputs and outputs, running directly to USB memory devices connected via the rear USB port. It allows recording to USB sticks or hard drives with capacities up to 2 TB. The recording functionality is provided by the internal DSP and is therefore independent of a connected Windows or Mac computer. This USB port can also be used for direct connection of the optional RME USB ARC remote control.
Direct USB recording converts the Fireface UCX II into a stand-alone field recorder and powerful live multi-channel player. Live concerts, band rehearsals or spontaneous jam sessions can be recorded and played back directly from the media, even completely stand-alone without a computer or software. All input and output channels can be individually selected for recording and playback.
Powerful applications for mixing, monitoring and measuring
The Fireface UCX II comes with the TotalMix FX DSP mixer for comprehensive routing and monitoring options, as well as the DIGICheck analyzer for measuring and analyzing the digital data stream in both directions with maximum accuracy. TotalMix FX can completely replace an external mixer, allowing the creation of multiple latency-free monitor mixes with EQ, dynamics, reverb, and delay for all outputs, including main monitors and headphone mixes for musicians.
TotalMix Remote software is a remote control for TotalMix FX, allowing control of the mixer and DSP effects in RME audio interfaces. TotalMix Remote reflects the current state of the host system on iPad and Windows/Mac computers: the complete mixing state, complete routing, all effect parameters, right down to the level meters, and all in real time. You can easily adjust all mix and effect parameters remotely, via Ethernet and WiFi.
