THE BRAND Arturia
Founded in Grenoble in 1999, Arturia is a local company specialising in virtual instruments, MIDI controllers and, more recently, analogue synthesizers.
The company first made a name for itself with a comprehensive virtual studio: Storm. This software offers all the tools needed to create music at an affordable price.
From 2003 onwards, Arturia offered virtual reproductions of analogue synthesizers, based on an algorithm developed for the occasion (but still in use today). Once again, it was a huge success!
The Modular V was the first distributed version, developed in partnership with Robert Moog, no less!
In 2009, the first hardware synthesiser appeared: the Origin. It's a digital synthesiser that reproduces the modular principle: it combines different reproductions of envelopes, filters and effects, based in particular on software previously published by the brand. Arturia then followed this up with a series of hardware controllers, working in tandem with its dedicated software solutions. 2012 marked a major step forward for the brand, which launched its analogue line-up with the MicroBrute monophonic synthesiser: rave reviews rained down on it, and the model sent the brand straight into the big leagues, reviving the analogue synth craze in the process! Since then, the brand has come up with other, much more powerful synthesizers, such as the comprehensive Polybrute (or Matrixbrute). The brand has comfortably established itself as one of the top synthesiser manufacturers.
