THE BRAND Boss

BOSS is the most popular effects pedal manufacturer in the industry. It is owned by the Japanese firm Roland Corporation. Many of its innovations have played a key role in the evolution of effects pedals and are now considered benchmarks in this field.
It was in 1976 that BOSS officially made its debut on the international stage with the CE-1 Chorus pedal. A year later, we were introduced to its ‘compact pedals’, which were both robust and small. Among them was the first overdrive pedal in history, the OD-1. This major breakthrough brought renown and credibility to this newcomer to the music industry.
Over the decades, marked by a string of successful releases, countless artists have been won over by the quality of these pedals… Kurt Cobain, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Gary Moore, to name but a few.
More recently, Boss has expanded its activities to include the manufacture of amplifiers, digital recording and drum machines.
