Solid body electric bass
Unique copy bearing the serial number CZ569015. Net weight (without case): 4.42 kg.
This FENDER Custom Shop 1962 Jazz Bass Relic solid-body electric bass #CZ569015 (9235001592) bears a striking resemblance to an authentic original Jazz Bass from the Sixties. It is a splendid reproduction with two-part "sort for lightweight" light alder body, quarter-sawn flat-lam maple neck, AAA "sort for dark" rosewood fingerboard (radius 7.25", medium-jumbo frets), Custom Shop hand-wound Vintage Jazz Bass pickups, Custom Shop case, Custom Shop strap and certificate of authenticity. Fender Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass or Jazz Bass are timeless, referential. They are an integral part of the history of amplified music, having contributed amply to its expansion and democratization. Ideally, you'd like to be the proud owner of an original from the 50s or 60s, but the price of vintage examples is so high that it's difficult for anyone to get access to them. The Fender Custom Shop offers without question the most realistic replica-reeditions on the market, employing manufacturing techniques and tooling similar to those used to create vintage Fender instruments.
It goes without saying that the quality of these reproductions is also due to the excellence of the components selected, and the meticulousness with which the craftsmen create these masterpieces. Time Machine: the dealers present at NAMM 1995 were totally blown away by the level of realism of the first two Relic models Fender presented to them that year (a '51 Nocaster and a '56 Mary Kaye Stratocaster). Most mistook them for original Fenders.
The early-aging process is now fully mastered, and accounts for the bulk of Custom Shop sales.
