Fulltone Custom Shop PlimSoul mkII Overdrive/Distortion

The PlimSoul mkII is a pedal from Fulltone. Saturation pedals generally offer two clipping options: Soft or Hard. Soft-clipping pedals, such as the Tube Screamer or Full-Drive 2, use diodes in the feedback loop of their op-amps to produce a cleaner, more compressed low-to-moderate-gain overdrive. Hard-clipping pedals, like the RAT or OCD, use diodes connected to ground or, and this is specific to the OCD v2, Mosfets transistors connected between 9v and ground, for a more natural overdrive. PlimSoul is the only pedal to offer both Soft and Hard clipping, with dedicated settings for each. Its unique dual independent clipping circuit has been designed to replicate not only the sound but also the feel of a tube amp, with all its subtleties and complexities: - Input impedance increased from 500 kOhms to +700 kOhms for greater interaction with guitar volume.
- Top-mounted jacks and power input - Soft-Clipping (stage 1) and Hard-Clipping (stage 2) are totally independent, giving aggressive, punchy gain when Hard-Clipping is high, even with Soft-Clipping low.
- The Hard-Clipping stage now uses 2 Germanium diodes instead of LEDs, a real sonic improvement! - Lossless Bass selector, located just before the Hard-Clipping circuit, for precise, percussive saturation - Brighter Treble control for a multitude of combinations between the highly asymmetrical Soft-Clipping stage and symmetrical Hard-Clipping. The PlimSoul mkII is made in the USA, like all Fulltones, with quality components, some of which are designed and manufactured by and exclusively for Fulltone.
