Overview

Introduced in 1960, the Gibson Hummingbird has established itself as a benchmark guitar, combining high-quality materials with a powerful sound. Its all-solid-wood construction using traditional woods gives it a unique tone, while its advanced preamp takes its performance to the next level.

All-solid-wood construction for rich, balanced tones

The Gibson Hummingbird Standard stands out for its all-solid-wood construction, crafted from woods selected for their exceptional acoustic properties:

• Sitka spruce top
• Mahogany body and neck
• Indian rosewood fingerboard (20 frets)

This classic combination produces a full, powerful tone with rich lows, well-defined mids, and clear highs. Its natural acoustic volume makes it an ideal choice for singers accompanying themselves on classical guitar.

An innovative preamp system for high-quality performance

The Hummingbird Standard is equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system, which revolutionizes recording:

• Two pickups under the bridge: one for string vibrations, the other for the soundboard
• Natural and dynamic recording that remains true to the original
• Each pickup has its own active preamp
• Volume and tone controls integrated into the inner edge of the soundhole

This system delivers faithful sound reproduction, capturing the instrument’s acoustic character with great precision.

A versatile electro-acoustic guitar for all musicians

The Gibson Hummingbird Standard is a must-have electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar. Its versatility adapts to a wide range of musical styles and playing techniques, from fingerpicking to strumming, making it ideal for any type of musician.
