The MARTIN & CO Custom Shop Expert D-18 1937 #2841322 is a Dreadnought 14 fret steel-string acoustic guitar made entirely of solid premium tonewoods. Adirondack spruce top and bracing, mahogany back and sides and Ebony fingerboard.
An exceptional model, perfectly balanced across the entire frequency spectrum, with remarkable responsiveness and a strong identity. Bracings and top in Adirondack Spruce. Abundant in the 1930s, when it was used extensively for the soundboards of Martin guitars,"Red Spruce" or "Adirondack" (Picea Rubens) enjoys enormous popularity. More dense than common spruce, Adirondack spruce is exceptionally responsive. It also has the rare quality of retaining a muffled sound when the instrument is intensely attacked.
