Showcasing premium, solid-tonewood construction, elegant appointments and innovative comfort enhancements, the TAYLOR 914ce Builder's Edition offers sonic complexity and sublime visual aesthetics. This cutaway Grand Auditorium, our most versatile body shape, pairs Indian rosewood back and sides, featuring a Kona edgeburst, with a natural Lutz spruce top. Indian rosewood, one of the most musically rich tonewoods, yields deep lows and bright, sparkling treble notes that ring out with bell-like clarity. Its Lutz spruce top produces a broad dynamic range with extra volume, projection and sustain thanks to tone-enhancing V-Class bracing inside. The body is finished with our smooth, noise-reducing Silent Satin finish and has chamfered edges, a Curve Wing ebony bridge, and a beveled armrest and cutaway. Even the fretboard has rolled edges for a more comfortable playing experience. Visual details include a mother-of-pearl peghead logo, paua/mother-of-pearl inlays with a Belle Fleur design, a single-ring paua rosette with an ebony-bound soundhole and koa purfling on the fretboard and peghead purfling. This model comes equipped with Gotoh 510 tuning machines in antique gold and onboard ES2 electronics. It ships in a deluxe hardshell case.
Lutz Spruce merges Sitka and White Spruce sounds, with exacerbated power. It responds instantly to each and every nuance of your playing.
It's the perfect companion for a Rosewood body, if you're looking for a perfect mix of depth and clarity.
Indian Rosewood is one of the most popular and traditional guitar woods. It takes the basic sonic thumbprint of Mahogany (strong midrange) and expands it in both directions of bass and treble.
Rosewood sounds deeper in the low end and brighter/sparkly on the top end. It appears to be more scooped in the middle than mahogany.
