Folk guitar
The TAYLOR Builder's Edition 814ce Honduran Rosewood/Sinker Redwood is a classy Grand Auditorium-style steel-string acoustic guitar. Constructed from the finest solid woods (Sinker Redwood, Honduras Rosewood, Crelicam Ebony), its extremely refined lutherie includes a chamfered armrest and cutaway for optimum comfort.
The soundboard is made of "Sinker Redwood", which from a sonic point of view can be considered an exceptional Cedar. Derived from hundred-year-old Sequoias immersed in the riverbeds of Northern California, it is a particularly resonant, rich and warm wood.
A favorite of the music industry, Honduras Rosewood is much denser than other species. This contributes to its harmonic richness and complexity. It produces incomparable hushed tones while preserving the clarity of more traditional rosewoods. Introduced in 2018, V-Class dams were developed by master luthier Andy Powers. They give the instrument incredible projection, near-perfect tonal balance and intonation, and equally astonishing sustain.Taylor Expression System 2 Preamp: in order to faithfully transcribe the amplitude and fundamental character of their acoustics, it took Taylor several years to develop the Expression System (ES). Thanks to new sensors and a substantially redesigned circuit, the Expression System 2 offers even greater responsiveness and dynamics, and according to Taylor around 25% more warmth.
