Inspired by the "flat-top" acoustic guitars of the 1930s and 1940s, the models in the Gold Label Collection embody a concept that is new to Taylor. The instruments in this new series combine three elements whose synergy produces magnificent traditional tones: a new variation on the remarkable V-Class Bracing and a “long-tenon” neck joint.
- The “Fanned V-Class” bracing is an evolution of the V-Class bracing introduced in 2018 and designed by master luthier Andy Powers. It offers the best of both worlds, blending the traditional with the modern.
- The “long-tenon” neck joint enhances low-frequency resonance.
The Gold Label’s tonal performance is absolutely incredible. With great richness and definition, these guitars are unique in that they produce volume proportional to the intensity of the playing dynamics, while naturally and musically compressing the signal. Softly played notes are magnified by the guitar with surprising warmth and subtlety.
The TAYLOR Gold Label Collection 717e Natural is a Grand Pacific-style electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar that truly lives up to its reputation!
The Grand Pacific body style is a reinterpretation of the popular Dreadnought Round Shoulder with wider “hips.” It produces powerful, warm tones, particularly in the bass register, which nevertheless retain remarkable clarity and great musicality.
The 717e features a roasted Sitka spruce top, a solid Indian rosewood back and sides, a solid mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard (25.5" scale). This combination produces a sound that is full, warm, and responsive, with rich, well-defined bass, balanced mids, and generous highs.
The ebony fingerboard subtly and musically compresses the sound, a characteristic that may prove beneficial in certain musical contexts.
In addition to giving the wood an elegant patina, the torrefaction process improves the instrument’s stability, sustain, clarity, and resonance, while protecting it from temperature fluctuations, humidity, and mold.
You can perform high-quality recordings on stage or in the studio using the built-in LR Baggs Element VTC system. Two discreet knobs located on the inner edge of the soundhole allow you to adjust volume and tone.
Sold with a Taylor Deluxe hardshell case (British Cocoa Vinyl Exterior, Graphite Interior).
