The MARTIN & CO Custom Shop CS-D-C23036414 #2816486 is an exceptional Dreadnought-style steel-string acoustic guitar. The Star's Music Acoustic team visited the Custom Shop Martin workshop in the USA to select the wood species before assembly (in this case set #72). All the woods are, of course, solid. It features a Sitka spruce top, Sitka spruce bracing, a Guatemalan rosewood back and side combo, and an Ebony fingerboard.
Sitka spruce is the traditional choice for the vast majority of acoustic guitars. Thanks to a perfect balance between robustness and elasticity, Sitka generates a direct, punchy sound with impeccable articulation. These characteristics give this species great tonal flexibility and adaptability to virtually any playing style: strumming, flatpicking or fingerpicking. Guatemalan Rosewood has tonal qualities similar to Brazilian Rosewood, whose exploitation has unfortunately been banned by the CITES organization. It is considered one of the most prestigious species, offering warm, rich and powerful tones.
