The TAYLOR Sunset Blvd 117e SEB is a Grand Pacific electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar featuring a solid torrefied Sitka Spruce top, a laminated Sapele back and side duo, an Ebony fingerboard and an Expression System ES2 preamp. Sapele is a perfect substitute for mahogany, both in appearance and sound, though noticeably more crystalline due to its significantly greater rigidity. As well as giving the wood a lovely patina, the torrefaction process improves the instrument's tuning stability, sustain, clarity and resonance. The Grand Pacific jig is a reinterpretation of the popular Dreadnought Round Shoulder with wider "hips". It produces warm, powerful tones, especially in the low register, yet retains remarkable clarity and musicality.

Taylor Expression System 2 Preamp: in order to faithfully reproduce the amplitude and fundamental character of their acoustics, it took Taylor several years to develop the Expression System (ES). Thanks to new sensors and a substantially redesigned circuit, the Expression System 2 offers even greater responsiveness and dynamics, and according to Taylor, around 25% more warmth.
