Gibson Dove Original LH (Baggs HiFi DNA Preamp) - antique natural

Discover the Gibson Dove Original Left-Handed, an iconic guitar that combines tradition and innovation for left-handed musicians.

Overview

The original Gibson Dove, produced from 1962 through the end of that decade, combines the features of the Hummingbird with the maple body of the SJ-200. Designed to rival Martin’s high-end models, it won over icons of pop, rock, and country music, such as Elvis Presley, Emmylou Harris, Tom Petty, Alex Lifeson, and John Mellencamp. The GIBSON Original Collection Dove Left-Handed (OCSSDOHFANL) retains these fundamental characteristics while adding the Baggs HiFi DNA preamp.

All-solid-wood construction for exceptional sound

The Gibson Dove Original stands out for its all-solid-wood construction, crafted from traditional wood species. Its construction includes:

• Sitka spruce top
• Flamed maple body and sides
• Mahogany neck
• Indian rosewood fingerboard (25.5" scale, 20 frets)

It delivers clear, powerful, percussive, and glossy tones, with precise bass, and clearly defined midrange and treble, ensuring excellent articulation. Its natural acoustic volume makes it an ideal choice for singers accompanying themselves on guitar.

Innovative Technology for Natural Recording

The Hummingbird Original is equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system, which revolutionizes acoustic recording technology. This system uses two sensors positioned beneath the bridge plate to capture:

• String vibrations
• Vibrations from the soundboard

This approach delivers an even more natural and dynamic reproduction of the instrument’s tones. Each sensor is equipped with its own active preamp, with volume and tone controls integrated into the soundhole.

A Guitar for All Styles and Techniques

The Gibson Dove Original is a must-have electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar, featuring a unique character that will appeal to most musicians, regardless of their musical style or playing technique—whether fingerpicking or strumming.
