Discover the Gibson Modern Collection Songwriter Recording Artist EC Left-Handed, a steel-string acoustic guitar specially designed for left-handed musicians, combining tradition and modernity for an exceptional sound experience.

Overview

Introduced in 1990, the Gibson Songwriter is a steel-string acoustic guitar designed to meet the needs of professional musicians. Optimized for studio and live recording, it retains the fundamental characteristics of historic Gibson models while incorporating modern features. The GIBSON Modern Collection Songwriter Recording Artist EC Left-Handed (MCSSSCRAHFRBL) is a square-shoulder dreadnought with a cutaway, featuring a rosewood body, an ebony fingerboard, and a Baggs HiFi DNA preamp.

All-solid-wood construction for warm, responsive tones

The Gibson Songwriter Recording Artist EC’s all-solid-wood construction includes:

• A roasted Sitka spruce top
• A rosewood back and sides
• A mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard (25.5" scale, 20 frets)

Innovative recording technology with the Baggs HiFi DNA system

The Songwriter Recording Artist EC features the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system, which replaces the traditional piezo pickup with two sensors positioned under the bridge plate. These sensors are capable of picking up vibrations from both the strings and the soundboard, providing a more natural and dynamic recording that faithfully reproduces the instrument’s acoustic character. Each pickup is equipped with its own active preamp, and the volume and tone controls are thoughtfully placed on the inner rim of the soundhole.

Versatility for All Musical Styles

Featuring high-performance preamp technology and a cutaway, the Gibson Songwriter Recording Artist EC is a functional and versatile electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar. It’s suitable for most musicians, regardless of their musical style—whether folk, country, pop, or rock—or their playing style, such as fingerpicking or strumming.
