Expander
All the features of the modwave mkII in a compact enclosure
The modwave builds upon the heritage of KORG's DW-8000 and transforms it into a modern synthesizer, featuring incredibly deep wavetable oscillators, stunning filters, extremely flexible modulation, unparalleled polyphony, a comprehensive sequencer, and immediate control to deliver unique, powerful, and easily customizable sounds and sequences. The modwave module is fully compatible with sounds and samples from the original modwave, modwave mk II, and the modwave native software, as well as with many excellent third-party libraries.
60-voice polyphony, updated LFOs, and much more.
Like the modwave mkII, the modwave module offers 60-voice polyphony in stereo, an unprecedented number for a hardware wavetable synthesizer. The rack-mountable 4U module has the same controls as the modwave MK II but is easily portable and seamlessly integrates into any studio or production environment. Additionally, in response to user requests, Korg has updated all LFOs with free-run, delayed start, and retrigger options. Korg has also added a pre/post switch for reverb sends, new modulation sources, and much more.
MIDI 2.0 and polyphonic aftertouch
With the latest software updates, all modwave models, both hardware and software, now support MIDI 2.0 property exchange. The original factory sounds have also been updated to include polyphonic aftertouch. All of this makes the modwave module an excellent companion for KORG's Keystage controller.
Rack-mountable and/or Desktop
The modwave module is cleverly designed for desktop or rack use. The panel is redesigned to fit a standard 19-inch width and 4U depth, and the back panel is recessed to allow easy cable access. In desktop mode, you can choose the panel angle.
