Taylor 512ce Urban Ironbark/Torrefied Sitka - natural

The TAYLOR 512ce Urban Ironbark/Torrefied Sitka steel-string acoustic guitar is a Grand Concert cutaway featuring a massive torrefied Sitka Spruce top, a solid Urban Ironbark back and side duo, and an Ebony fingerboard. Introduced in 2018, the innovative V-Class bracing developed by master luthier Andy Powers, gives the instrument magnificent projection, improved tonal balance, remarkable intonation and equally incredible sustain.

Urban Red Ironbark, from the forests of Southern California, made its appearance in the Taylor catalog in 2022, notably on 500 series models. Dense and hard, it possesses an ideal voice between Indian Rosewood and Ebony. the sonic depth and richness of Indian Rosewood taken to another level. The hardness and density of Urban Red Ironbark are comparable to those of Ebony. After exploring its acoustic properties and falling in love with it, master luthier Andy Powers opted for a combination with a torrefied Sitka Spruce top.
This combination generates both power and sweetness, with piano-like harmonic complexity and depth across the entire frequency spectrum. Notes leap off the guitar, producing a natural amplification effect that literally fills the room.

Taylor Expression System 2 Preamp: to faithfully reproduce the amplitude and fundamental character of their acoustics, it took Taylor several years to develop the Expression System (ES). Thanks to new sensors and a significantly reworked circuit, the Expression System 2 offers even greater responsiveness and dynamics, and according to Taylor, around 25% more warmth.

In a nod to Taylor's classic 500 Series heritage, the new set retains a traditional aesthetic, updated with subtle decorative touches to sublimate this new wood combination. Other details include new Italian acrylic Aerial inlays, faux tortoiseshell binding and pickguard, abalone soundhole with maple and black purfling, and Taylor nickel tuning machines.
