The MARTIN & CO Custom Shop CS-000-C23035495 #2819079 is a 000 14 fret steel-string acoustic guitar for which the Star's Music team selected the wood species on site, in the Custom Shop Martin workshops (in this case it was set #20). It features a Sitka Spruce top, Adirondack Spruce bracing, a Ziricote back and sides combo, and an Ebony fingerboard.
Sitka spruce is the traditional choice for the vast majority of acoustic guitars. Thanks to a perfect balance between robustness and elasticity, Sitka generates a direct, punchy sound with impeccable articulation. These characteristics give Sitka great flexibility of sound and adaptability to virtually any playing style: strumming, flatpicking or fingerpicking. The bracing is made of Adirondack spruce. Adirondack is one of the most sought-after spruce varieties. Its clarity and projection are unquestionably superior to those of traditional Sitka Spruce, with muffled midrange. Ziricote is a species whose acoustic characteristics borrow from those of Indian Rosewood and Macassar Ebony. It has a natural, enveloping reverberation effect.
