Taylor 214ce Plus Special Edition - grey

Limited-edition electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic folk guitar, Grand Auditorium cutaway style, made in Mexico. The TAYLOR 214ce Plus Special Edition (Trans Grey) features a solid Englemann spruce top, laminated Sapele back and sides, neo-tropical mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard and Expression System ES2 preamp. The Grand Auditorium gauge (Taylor proprietary since 1994) is the consensus. A hybrid between the Grand Concert (00 Classic Classical style) and the indispensable Dreadnought, it is considerably more compact than the latter, which obviously makes for more pleasant ergonomics. Its acoustic amplitude is logically less pronounced, but on the other hand its amplification is easier, with fewer feedback problems. The Englemann is a superior-quality spruce. Less dense and paler than Sitka or Adirondack, it generates noticeably more midrange, a softer attack and remarkable clarity, helping to give the guitar a more vintage sound. Sapele is a perfect substitute for Mahogany, both in appearance and sound, though noticeably more crystalline due to its significantly greater rigidity.

Taylor Expression System 2 Preamp: in order to faithfully reproduce the amplitude and fundamental character of their acoustics, it took Taylor several years to develop the Expression System (ES). Thanks to new sensors and a substantially reworked circuit, the Expression System 2 offers even greater responsiveness and dynamics, and according to Taylor, around 25% more warmth.
