The MARTIN & CO Custom Shop Dreadnought #2375261 is a 14-fret Dreadnought-style steel-string acoustic guitar, with Sitka spruce top, Blackwood back and sides, and Ebony fingerboard (all woods are of course solid and selected with the greatest intransigence for their acoustic and aesthetic qualities).
Blackwood is an Acacia that offers tones somewhere between Hawaiian Koa, Mahogany and, to a lesser extent, Indian Rosewood (for subtle brilliance). Its clear, dynamic and warm mid-range gives the instrument a remarkable presence, and it is also a virtuous species in that it is harvested in protected forests.
